Terms of service
These terms govern your use of Masterclass.tv, a marketplace where independent experts sell live online classes and viewers buy tickets or subscriptions to watch them. By creating an account or making a purchase you accept these terms, the refund policy and the privacy policy. Last updated October 14, 2026.
1. Who runs the service
The masterclass.tv service (the "Service") is operated by the administrator of the masterclass.tv service ("we", "us"). You can reach us at [email protected]. Masterclass.tv is an independent platform. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to MasterClass or Yanka Industries, Inc.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, to create an account or buy anything.
- You confirm your email address with a one time code. Keep your login details private. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
- One person per account. Accounts and tickets cannot be shared, resold or transferred, except seats assigned by a company on a team plan.
- Information you give us must be accurate, including the name you ask to be printed on a certificate.
3. Our role in the marketplace
Experts are independent sellers of their own classes. Each expert decides the content, date, length and price of their classes and is responsible for what they teach. We provide the Service: event pages, checkout, the live room, the question queue, replays, materials hosting, certificates, reminders and payouts. We collect payment on behalf of the expert and keep a platform fee of 25 percent of each ticket. Experts are not our employees or agents, and we do not guarantee the results of any class.
4. Tickets
A ticket gives one person access to one class. Every ticket includes a seat in the live room, the ability to ask questions in the on air queue, the replay of that class for as long as the Service operates, the materials pack the expert provides, and a certificate of attendance once at least half of the class has been watched, live or as a replay. Ticket prices are set by experts and shown before checkout.
Times are shown in your time zone based on your device settings. We send reminder emails 24 hours and 15 minutes before the start. Missing the live class does not entitle you to a refund, because the replay is included.
If the expert cancels a class, or the broadcast does not take place, the ticket is refunded in full to the original payment method. This is the ticket rule described in the refund policy.
5. All Access
All Access is a subscription for viewers. It costs 49 USD per month, or 24 USD per month billed yearly as 288 USD per year. It includes a seat in every class marked "Included in All Access", the replays of included classes, asking on air, materials, certificates, and 20 percent off premium tickets such as cohorts, 1 on 1 sessions and flagship classes. Experts decide which of their classes are included, and the set of included classes changes over time.
All Access renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your account. Access continues to the end of the paid period, and the charge already taken is not refunded.
6. Free access
Without a purchase you can browse the Service, see the agenda and chapters of any replay and a blurred preview of a running live room. Each verified account can watch one free taster replay, one time. The taster replay does not include a certificate. There is no free plan.
7. Expert plans, fees and payouts
- Test class. An expert without a plan can publish one test class with a live room of 100, once per expert account. Every further class needs Pro or Studio.
- Pro. 99 USD per month, or 49 USD per month billed yearly. Room of 1,000, unlimited classes, replay sales after the class, affiliate program with tracked links, cohorts and 1 on 1 bookings, branded event page, full funnel analytics, 2 co hosts.
- Studio. 299 USD per month, or 149 USD per month billed yearly. Everything in Pro, plus a room of 5,000, email sequences, analytics export, 10 co hosts and 5 team members.
On every plan the platform fee is 25 percent of each ticket and the expert keeps 75 percent. Payouts go to the expert's own connected payout account after the class, subject to the checks of our payment processor. Half of All Access revenue is shared monthly between experts by minutes watched of their included classes. Amounts refunded under the ticket rule or lost to a chargeback on an expert's class are deducted from that expert's payouts.
As an expert you confirm that you have the right to teach what you teach and to use any material you show or share, that your class descriptions and credentials are accurate, that you will deliver the class as described or cancel it in your studio, and that you are responsible for your own taxes. You may export the emails of your attendees and must use them in line with privacy and anti spam law, including honouring unsubscribe requests.
Affiliate links let partners promote an expert's classes. Commission arrangements between an expert and their affiliates are the expert's responsibility. Self referral and fake purchases are not allowed.
8. Teams and Enterprise
Teams costs 499 USD per month for 10 seats, or 249 USD per month billed yearly. Enterprise costs 1,999 USD per month for 50 seats, or 999 USD per month billed yearly. Each seat includes All Access. Teams includes a team dashboard with attendance, a certificate report per person, invoices and a private Q&A channel. Enterprise adds SSO (SAML), roles, private live sessions with chosen experts (bought as tickets), priority support with a named contact, a security review pack and payment by invoice. The company that buys the plan is responsible for the people it assigns to seats and for complying with these terms.
9. Payments, renewals and taxes
Prices are shown in USD. Applicable taxes are added or included as required where you live and shown at checkout. Payments are handled by our payment processor, and we never see or store your full card number. Subscriptions renew automatically at the price shown at checkout until cancelled. If a renewal charge fails, it remains due and may be retried. Moving to a higher plan or from monthly to yearly billing charges the difference straight away.
10. Refunds
Payments are final, with the exceptions set out in the refund policy: a double charge, a proven unauthorised charge, a total failure of the Service, and the ticket rule for cancelled classes. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you ask us to start providing access immediately when you buy, and you acknowledge that your right of withdrawal expires once access starts.
11. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- record, download, copy, rebroadcast or share classes, replays or materials outside the Service, except for personal notes;
- share your account or your access to a live room with others;
- post questions or messages that are unlawful, abusive, hateful, sexual, or that promote spam;
- teach or promote anything illegal, misleading, or that infringes the rights of others;
- interfere with the Service, probe it for weaknesses without permission, scrape it, or use bots to buy tickets or inflate views;
- use the Service to sell products unrelated to the class in a way that misleads viewers.
12. Content and rights
Experts keep ownership of their classes and materials. By publishing a class, the expert grants us a worldwide, non exclusive licence to host, stream, record, store, display and distribute it to the people entitled to access it, to show short previews and the replay preview, and to use the title, description, image and name of the expert to promote the class on and off the Service. This licence lasts as long as the class is available on the Service and, for replays already sold, for as long as buyers keep access.
Viewers get a personal, non transferable, non exclusive licence to watch the classes and use the materials they have access to, for their own learning. Questions you post may be shown to the room, answered on air and kept on the replay page. Do not include private information in a question.
The Masterclass.tv name, design and software belong to us. If you believe something on the Service infringes your rights, email [email protected] with details and we will review it promptly.
13. Certificates
A certificate confirms attendance of at least half of a class, live or as a replay. It is not an academic credit, a professional licence or an endorsement of skills. Each certificate has a public verification page that shows the name on it, the class, the expert and the date. We may revoke a certificate obtained through misuse.
14. Suspension and termination
You can close your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, puts other users at risk, or is used for fraud, including after a chargeback raised without contacting us first. If we close an account for a breach, fees already paid are not refunded. If we stop offering the Service as a whole, we will tell you in advance and refund the unused part of any prepaid subscription.
15. Availability and changes to the Service
We work to keep the Service available but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted. Live broadcasts depend on the expert's own connection and equipment. We may change features over time. If a change materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel before it takes effect.
16. Disclaimers
Classes are educational. They are not personal financial, investment, legal, medical, fitness or other professional advice, even when taught by a professional. Use your own judgement and, where appropriate, seek advice for your situation. To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind beyond those stated in these terms.
17. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. For material changes we will notify account holders by email or on the Service before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms.
19. Disputes
If something goes wrong, please email [email protected] first so we can try to resolve it. These terms are subject to mandatory consumer protection law of the country where you live. Nothing here removes your right to bring a claim before the courts where you live if that law gives you that right.
